Hot Dogs

Hot dogs, frankfurters, wieners, no matter what you call them this iconic food comes to mind with so many things. Ball games, backyard cookouts, summer, Coney Island and it all started with a sausage in Germany. Today hot dogs are one of the most widely consumed food in America.

Whether made from pork, beef, chicken, and even tofu there is a hot dog out there for everyone. They come in a variety of sizes, you can eat them on a bun or right off of the stick if you roasted them over the campfire. Then there are the toppings from condiments like mustard, ketchup, and relish. Add extras like cheese, crushed potato chips, crumbled bacon, onions, sauerkraut, or mac’n’cheese. Those are just the beginning if you can imagine it then it has likely been a topping on a hot dog. There are restaurants and food trucks that specialize in hot dogs, and of course, all the hot dog carts found in cities across America. The one thing you can’t say is that a hot dog is a sandwich.
