Beef Stew side dish and serving ideas

Beef Stew

Beef Stew

On a cold snowy day there is no better one pot meal than beef stew. Made with simple ingredients like cubed beef roast, potatoes and carrots, that are all slowly braised to make their own rich, flavorful gravy. Of course the vegetables that are cooked in the stew can be varied. If you are going to serve your stew with mashed potatoes or even a rice pilaf you may want to leave out the potatoes and instead add some turnip, parsnips and green beans. Next day beef stew is also amazing with some dumplings dropped on top and steaming in the gravy while the stew is warming up.
